Duke of Knox

We lost our sweet little buddy, Duke, today. He didn’t make it through his eye surgery.

We love him so much and we’re really sad to see him go.

He was only about 1lbs when we brought him home. Dennis use to put in him in his hoodie pocket and walk around the house.

We got Duke a week after our Honeymoon. He already had a name and we didn’t have the heart to change it. We added the “of Knox” and he was all ours. He also had a lot of good nicknames like Duke Baby, Duke-da-looch he’s my pooch, Mr. Baby, and little boy… We’ve had him for 5 good years!

Rhett can float!

Rhett has been taking swim lessons for the past 6 weeks. It’s call ISR or Infant Swim Rescue. Basically, babies are taught to float. Each lesson only last about 10 minutes because they work so hard kicking, flipping, and… yes crying!!! We did a 4 day week for 5 weeks and it finally “clicked” in the 5th week. For Rhett, I’m sure it was scary at times. For me and his Daddy it has been worth it’s weight in gold when you think about what could happen. IRS doesn’t make your baby “drown proof” it just gives them a big chance.

Warning: This may hurt your feelings if you are a Grandmother.

In other news, I’m packing my bags for Alabama Baby! Rhett and I are doing a quick weekend with the family. HERE WE COME!!! Yay!

I couldn’t wait to get him this big Tonka truck… I think I registered for one. Ha! Every little boy needs one of these, right? Rhett loves push it around & sit in the bed of it.

Coffee outside:

This doesn’t happen very often because it’s so blame hot right now… but this is one of my favorite things. I love sitting in the chairs with coffee and watching Rhett play with his toys. It makes me stare at Dennis and Rhett!
