Baby and Me on TV!

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010 goes down in history as an AWESOME day!
Not only did we find out that we'll be welcoming a little BOY to our family, but he and I got to be on TV.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen wrote a book about pregnancy.

The 700 Club, which tapes locally, had Dr. Roizen on to talk about the new book... and one of the producers (my dear friend, Heather) invited me to help! (I use to work at CBN as a News Producer back in the day)

As you'll see in the video, the segment had a game show feel... which made it so much fun!

Behind the scenes, Dr. Roizen was such a sweet man. (pictures to come!) There were 2 other pregnant girls on the show with me and he answered ALL of our questions. We kind of bombarded him with questions..... WE even talked about OPRAH. (He's on her show a lot.)

Dr. Roizen didn't seem like a doctor- he was extrememly personable and FUNNY. He was also SHORT... which surprised me. He looks tall on TV. He actually asked Kristy, the host, to take off her heels and put on flats. :) It was cute.

All in all, this was a wonderful Pregnancy experience! One that I'll get to actually show our son one day. Wow, son, Whoa!

it's a boy!

I can't even describe what it felt like to meet this little guy today. This smile has not left my face- it just feel so real now.

Dennis and I saw "the hardware," as Dennis put it before the ultrasound tech even announced it.

I glanced over at him but he hardly noticed because his eyes were glued to the little screen.

Our little guy was wiggling, punching, kicking, and putting on an awesome show.

(may have had something to do with the coke I downed before the ultrasound)

Jimmy & Susan (D's parents) experienced this big day with us. They were also smiling ear to ear. Jimmy even video taped it.

Our little boy weights, ironically, 12 ounces...as much as a Coke!

Due date has officially changed to July 4th, 2010!
I'll never forget today...

Valentine's Day 2010

I'd like to take a minute to talk about my sweet Valentine!
How did I get so lucky?
We spent the entire day together and I still miss him.
Here's a few snap shots of our awesome weekend:

Friday Night Cocktails & Mocktails:

I love the dollar store!

Saturday Morning

Saturday Night- Dennis gave me a pregnancy pillow!
Oh man, it's comfy! How have I lived without this?

Dear Amy Coe (prego pillow designer), I love you!

He also gave me a peanutshell baby sling! I think it's cute how he picked the brown one.
He says it will match all my clothes. :)

D's V-day gift from me- Tervis Tumbler and The Real Pirates Exhibit at the Nauticus!
Fun Times!!!

We couldn't forget our "valen-tiny"- We took him for a walk around the block.
He's sooo determine and ready!!
"Harness" is his favorite word.

Walking in the hood...

Valentine's 2010 ended with an AWESOME dinner at Mahi Mah's-
Dennis had a delicious cut of Tuna and I had yummy crab cakes!
Before dessert Dennis handed me a sweet letter he'd written.
It's OUR last Valentine's day before we're blessed with a baby- his words have extra meaning to me right now. It made me tear up.
I'm going to treasure that letter forever!

What an awesome weekend!!!

Week 20! We're half way there...Whoa, OHHH!

I cannot believe we're half way there! OMG- what does that mean? Mom, get the crib! ASAP!

In other news, we find out the gender on Wednesday 2/17 at 4:45 pm.
D's parents are going with us to find out. It will be special!
As Susan said- it'll open the flood gates for all to start the shopping...
What'll it be BLUE or PINK?

I'm was feeling the boy-vibe and now I just don't know?!?

Also on Wednesday 2/17, our baby (and my belly) makes it's television debut.
Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen are on a book tour for their new book:

I'll be on the 700 Club at 9am as Dr. Roizen challenges 3 pregnant girls to make healthy choices.
TiVo me!
In the meantime, I'll be seriously considering my outfit. I'm going for the "less thick, more pregnant" look.
Thank the good Lord that Pam Sams (the best make-up artist far and wide) is doing my make-up. At least I'll have that going for me!

Happy Valentine's Weekend!

Dennis and I have a date on Sunday- it's a surprise date.

I l.o.v.e those...maybe I'll get one of these:

Mango Tango! Week 19

This mango is doing the tango today. I've felt a lot of movement lately, especially after I eat.

Lots going on- I look pregnant now.
In fact, today I asked the Steinmart lady if they had a maternity section. She smiled and said, "oh, how far along are you?" I said 19 weeks... she loudly said, "wow, you're big!" Okay, I'm usually VERY nice. Very nice, but something got firely inside of me and I smiled and said "wow... so is your mouth!"
I bought a cute watch and left!

I just told Dennis that aweful story and he brought me this:

Gin and Juice... Gingerale & Fruit juice! MMM!!

In other news, I'm considering this stroller. My girlfriend, Jess, has 2 kids. I've watched her purchase, well, 4 strollers for different stuff- jogger, sit & stand, newborn rig, small light-weight... and now that she has 2 kids she needs a double jogger. This could be the solution Jess... it just might be??? It's called the City Select by Baby Jogger. It does 20 things! It even pushes it's self- WOW! :)

I also like this rig by Phil & Ted:

Despite what Mrs. Steinmart big mouth thinks, I'm NOT having twins...I'm just thinking ahead with these strollers. I mean think about it... if you add the price of 4 $100 to $150 stollers together that more than what one of these cost...it cost like $439 on Amazon. It can be for one kid now and 2 later. What do you think?

Nursery Diary: Before

First of all, I'm writing this from my rocking chair!
Okay- a little history-If you could see the Before/Before picture, you'd see a big queen bed and a massive dresser. Those are both clearly gone thanks to Craigs list and Grandma Rebecca...
and here it is as of today:

I have big plans for that ugly black ottoman. In the picture below there is an upolstered blue and white stipped chair. I want to have the ottoman recovered in a fabric like it (pink or blue striped)- I want the fabric to go all the way to the ground so you can't see the ugly scuffed legs.

On the new changing table is a lamp. I bought that cute little starfish lamp at TJMaxx the other day. It's very cute!

Just look at those chubby furniture legs- I have a thing for wooden legs!
Watch out pirates!
One day I'll take pictures of all the great legged furniture in my house.

I've known that this piece would be in a nursery for a long time- I bought it for $100 from a crazy consignment shop guy. It's been like 4 years and I still remember that guys name was ROY. Weird.

(NOTE: Inside this armoire are all of my old formal dresses/prom/winter formal/& my wedding veil... and Liz's wedding veil, and Laura's wedding veil!!! :)We've all worn it on our big day!)

Didn't want to leave this out- CLOTHES. Both Girl and Boy- collected from loving neighbors and friends.

Another View

Still need:
Crib: My Aunt Judy is passing along a beautiful white Pottery Barn crib. It's in Oklahoma & I don't know how I'm going to get it.
Rug: I want a really great cushy, crawly one.
Linens: (bed and curtains) This is where I may splurge. My sister Mandy is going to learn how to really really sew this year. :)
Dresser: It's going in the closet- I'm looking for something small.
